If you have missing or severely damaged teeth, dental implants can be the perfect way to restore your smile. These permanent replacement teeth look, feel and function just like the real thing.
Unfortunately, tooth loss is a reality for many people. It can occur for a variety of reasons at any age, but, regardless of the reason, it’s essential that the patient receives a proper restoration. A full set of teeth are necessary to chew, speak and smile as well as for preventing issues like jawbone deterioration and bite imbalances. Dental implants are the gold standard treatment for tooth loss. We are proud to offer our patients Endosteal Implants.
Endosteal implants are what most dentists consider the “standard” implant. They are a screw-like structure made from titanium that is surgically implanted into the jaw to replace the root of a missing tooth. While endosteal implants will often be used to replace just one tooth, they can also be used to support a bridge or dentures.
The endosteal implant is permanently affixed into the patient’s jawbone. The procedure is safe and relatively painless for the patient, and once prosthetic teeth are attached, it restores functionality to the mouth that is missing teeth. A post (the visible part of the implant) is connected to the endosteal implant after the gum tissue in the surrounding area has healed. Finally an artificial tooth, also commonly referred to as a crown, is affixed to the post.
Endosteal implants are a popular choice for patients at CedarNorth Dental because they replace missing or damaged teeth and get the smile back to perfect quickly and easily. Patients love that these implants are permanent and look natural and function like their natural teeth.
